Vase ”Purple Glatt” - detail of advertisement
Antique: Vase ”Purple Glatt”
South Bohemia, Wilhelm Kralik Sohn, Lenora, 1900-1925 Personnel interconnections of Sumava glassworks dates back to the beginning of the 19th century (Buquoy-Meyr-Kralik-Loetz). It also shows in the similarity of technological procedures and used decorations which were characteristic of both important South Bohemian glassworks. Wilhelm Kralik (1806-1877) inherited the Lenora Glassworks (it was named after the spouse of Schwarzenberk Prince – Lenorenhein) from Johann Meyr (1775-1841) and continued producing first-rate blown glass which he exported to many European countries and to the U.S. It was the Meyr family which leased out the glassworks in Annin to Johann Loetz at the end of the thirties of the 19th century.
