We present JEUX D'ENFANCE, a brand new book by French artist and set designer Gérard Lo Monaco, which was created as a tribute to the work of Ladislav Sutnar. Modernista has co-published it and is also the distributor for the Czech Republic. The book contains the artist's drawings of Sutnar's wooden animals, buildings and vehicles, which come to life here in playful spatial tipping colour images. Most of Sutnar's toys are also produced by Modernista under exclusive licensing rights granted by the Sutnar Foundation at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. Ladislav Sutnar (1897 - 1976)

From cutlery to posters... through glassware, porcelain sets, book graphics, posters, toys, typography, textile design, commercial design, applied objects, even painting on canvas. Ladislav Sutnar's work spans all areas of modern lifestyle. He is one of the most significant figures of Czech interwar modernism. He significantly influenced the development of applied design not only in this country, but also in America, where he worked from 1939.
